Mosquitoes transmit deadly parasites. Mosquitoes have a powerful innate immune system that protects them from infection by parasites and other microbes they encounter. My lab at Villanova is interested in understanding how the mosquito immune system recognizes and neutralizes parasites as well as the mechanisms that parasites use to evade killing.
